Board terms are three years, with a possible extension by majority vote of up to two years.
Executive Officer terms are one year in length. Elections are held at the annual meeting and terms are one year in length, from July 1 - June 30.
Board membership can consist of up to 12 members, both from the community at large and ACS parent population (with neither group having more than 8 representatives).

There is also a voice mail box set up at the school for board members - please just call the main line and ask to leave us a message. We also have a snail mailbox in the front office at the school. We will also be having Chat with the Board sessions throughout the school year and invite you to drop in to talk to us at that time. Marlene Frisbe
Vice Chair, Community Member, Chair Community Partnership Team
Elected to Board March 21, 2006; term expires September 21, 2009.
Marlene is the Housing Code Manager for the City of Asheville. She also is an Adjunct Faculty member at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College where she teaches business classes.

David Arpin, DC
Community Member, Policy Team
Elected to Board December 18, 2007; term expires December 18, 2010.
Dr. Arpin has been in private chiropractic practice for 21 years in the Arden area and has served the community on many boards over that time. He has also been involved in the Buncombe County School system for 18 years.
Brian D. Henderson, CPA
Treasurer, Community Member, Co-chair Operations Group; Chair Finance Team
Elected to Board September 19, 2006; term expires September 19, 2009.
Brian has been practicing in Public Accounting since 1989. He is currently running his own practice in South Asheville. |

Becky is the Program Manager for Braiform, a multi-national plastics company that is an industry pioneer in garment hanger reuse programs designed for retailers.
Jack Leachman

Jack is the owner for over 15 years of Mortgage Trading Group, specializing in personal real estate financing. |
